In a Vase on Monday: Envy in November
What a grey month November is turning out to be!
But then, that is pretty normal here, so indoor projects have taken priority recently. However, a brief sunny spell on Saturday gave me the opportunity to tidy up the garden a bit, and it was refreshing to see how much is still in flower. One lovely surprise was this Echinacea, ‘Green Envy‘, which is looking greener than ever!
Naturally, my first thought was, ‘I could use that in my vase on Monday’ when I like to join Cathy at Rambling in the Garden for her Monday meme.
And here is that vase…
Another Echinacea is still flowering – E. ‘Sunrise’? I planted ‘Sunrise’ and ‘Harvest Moon’ next to each other in the Words and Herbs Bed (they are both lightly fragrant) and without seeking out the labels I cannot tell them apart. The fact that they are still sending up new buds is giving me hope that these will prove to be strong plants that survive our winter.
The white aster is the same one I used last week, Aster ‘Ashvi’, still going strong and looking fresh as a daisy.
A few sprigs of Miscanthus and Sporobolus, and some silver Helichyrsum italicum add to the fresh look in my pale green bottle vase and I can almost imagine the sun is shining!
I do hope you have seen the sun recently, but if you need to brighten up a grey Monday why not visit our host to see her vase and all the other lovely arrangements shared today.
Have a good week!
